Program Details

This program prepares trainees for careers in ADRD research by providing a combination of mentored research, professional education, and ADRD training. Trainees can tailor their experience to align with their professional goals and ongoing research projects. Core program elements include:

  • Mentored research experience that is distinct from home laboratory
  • Individual Development Plan (IDP) to address training and career goals
  • Monthly career development seminars
  • Exposure to each of the Knight ADRC Cores and the Memory Diagnostic Center
  • Memory and Aging Project research participant observations
  • Annual Knight ADRC T32 retreat
  • Responsible Conduct in Research (RCR) training
  • Training in biostatistics and informatics
  • Participation in relevant seminars, lectures, interest groups, grant writing trainings and other coursework, as needed
  • Opportunities to attend and present at conferences

Postdoctoral Trainees

Program Eligibility

  • Hold a doctoral level degree (PhD, MD, DDS, or comparable degree)
  • Commit to full-time research training in ADRD
  • Be a U.S. citizen, non-citizen national or permanent resident

Application Requirements

  • Current CV
  • Research Project Title
  • 1 page statement describing your interest in ADRD research and your specific training goals
  • 1 page project proposal
  • 2 letters of recommendation
  • Approved T32 Mentor

Selection Criteria Include

  • Applicant’s academic record and prior success in research
  • Applicant’s interest in and commitment to ADRD research
  • Appropriateness and relevance of ADRD-related research project
  • Supporting a diverse set of research projects and trainees
