We wish to avoid the situation where two investigators study the same research question to avoid duplication of effort and potential conflict. Aim 1: We aim to elucidate whether elevated tau- positron emission tomography (PET) signal, in the presence of elevated Aβ, prospectively predict short-term conversion from cognitively unimpaired to mild cognitive impairment (MCI).
Aim 2: We are interested whether the presence of neurodegeneration (smaller hippocampal volume or thinner cortex in temporal regions) added predictive values to the amyloid and tau PET biomarkers.
